Commissioner's Notes

I want to thank everyone for a great weekend of Soccer in Match Week 1. The games went smoothly for a rainy day. I appreciate everyone's patience with the schedule. We are helping our sister-Regions in the Area with Inter-Region matches. The coordination between 4 Regions has been challenging. Quartz Hill is the largest AYSO Region in the high desert, but like us, all regions are hurting for volunteers, especially in the Referees and on the Boards. Again, we appreciate your understanding as we do our best to work through volunteer shortages and continued supply issues from our vendors.

I look forward to the next 10 weeks of play and thank you all for being a part of the Quartz Hill AYSO Family!

News to Know

PICTURE DAY - Saturday, September 24th is picture day for the Region. The picture schedule will be released soon. All pictures will be done at Lane Park, in the tree area.Make-up pictures will be done for Individials only, not team. EVERY PLAYER NEEDS A PICTURE FORM. Your registration fees pay for a base picture package. Coaches will receive Picture Company Forms this weekend to hand out for next weekend. Please hold onto it and bring it, completed, to your picture time.
LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING - All Adult Volunteers in Youth Activities are required to complete LiveScan Fingerprinting, per CA law. We have an event this weekend, please send the link on this page to sign-up. Pre-registration is required and only takes 5 minutes.
There were no major issues in Match Week 1. Please continue to support the players and volunteer referees and make the field a fun and safe area for the kids.
Tournament Team information - coming soon. I know we just started, but we are already planning for our Tournament Teams. We will provide program information and try-out dates soon.

Volunteer of the Week

COACH Javier Martinez: Coach Martinez and his 12UG Regulators jumped in and provided a match for a 12UG team from Rosamond who had been mistakenly told to come to Marie Kerr. The Regulators played back to back matches and demonstrated great sportsmanship!

Board Member of the Week

Kelli Chavez Alcorta: Kelli is new to our board, taking over as Regional Secretary in late Spring. In the weeks leading up to Match Week 1, Kelli replaced all of the Coach Boxes, folders and got Game Cards Printed. In addition, her and her family helped with pre-season inventory and have jumped in to help whenever a need arises. In her primary role as Regional Secretary she takes meticulous minutes which has already been a real benefit to review after some epic pre-season board meetings. Thank you!
