More Coaching Opportunities
Quartz Hill AYSO offers opportunities for coaching outside of the Core Fall Program. Each of these programs focuses on a select group of players and can allow you teach and guide players to a higher level.
All-Stars Coaching
All-Star teams are selected in 10U, 12U and 14U. The coaches and players represent Quartz Hill AYSO in the Area 10D All-Star competition. Teams are selected in November by the coaches within the respective divisions. Team begin practicing in December. Our All-Star teams typically attend two tournaments in January. Teams that finish 1st or 2nd in the Area 10D All-Star tournament are invited to the Section 10 tournament in February. Teams that advance from the Section 10 tournament attend the Western Games in March. Historically, Quartz Hill usually has a number of teams advance to the Section 10 Tournament. At that point competition is fierce and we only occasionally have a team move on to the Western games.
These are fun and exciting teams. We are looking for coaches who are looking for the challenge of training and managing a higher-level team. Registered Coaches and Assistant Coaches from with the Divisions are invited to apply. Application forms will be available at the beginning of the Fall Season.
Tournament Coaching
AYSO Tournament soccer offers players in the 10U through 19U age groups the opportunity to continue to play after the regular season ends. Teams play from November until May or June of the following year. Players skills will advance tremendously. AYSO tournaments are competitive games played in various locations around Southern California. The tournaments are great ways for players and parents to form new friendships and to advance the skills of the players and coaches.
Tournament coaches train and manage their teams over a longer period of time. They are also ambassadors for Quartz Hill AYSO. If you are interested in learning more please contact Ryan Carper with questions.
Specialty Coaching
Quartz Hill AYSO hosts a Fall Goalkeeper Academy. We have 4 certified coaches focusing specific training on a select number of goalkeepers from the region. We would also be interested in holding specialty camps or sessions. If you are interested in coaching a specific area or participating\running a clinic please contact Ryan Carper
Coach Instructors \ Mentors
All coaches must be certified in the divisions they coach. That training must be done by AYSO Certified Coach Instructors. Becoming a certified Coach Instructor requires some training, and the prior completion of 12U Coaches Course for the Basic Coach Instructor certification (6U-12U). The number and quality of Coach Instructors we have can have an amazing impact on the level of training and help we can provide to our coaches. Even if you are not a certified Coach Instructor, you can still help with the training courses and being available as a mentor to coaches who need assistant. If you are interested in either being a Coach Instructor or a Mentor, please contact Eric Dilger
