News to Know

REFEREE TRAINING - Thank you to the new Referees and the Trainers for spending their Sunday learning to officiate the Beautiful Game. We are working on another Learning Opportunity for those who could not make last Sunday's training. If interested, please contact Doug Emert and he will help you get started on the online part of the training.
LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING - Although this is a new requirement for 2022, it is a State Requirement nonetheless. If you are a Coach, Referee or Team Parent and have not completed your AYSO LiveScan, please contact our CVPA, Nelson Brown today!
TOURNAMENT TRYOUTS - We will post more information next week, but pencil in Sundays October 16th and October 23rd for Tournament Team try-outs. Quartz Hill offers a try-out based tournament team program that picks up when our Fall season ends and offers training and competitive tournaments through the Spring of 2023. Tournament Teams may be formed in the 10U through 19U divisions, based on qualified coaches and enough interested players.
COACHES COACH, PLAYERS PLAY, PARENTS CHEER - We had a few matches temporarily stopped to address complaining parents last Saturday. This is unacceptable. If you have a question or a constructive comment, send to our Referee Admin Doug Emert
SUPPORT THE SNACK TENT - The Contreras family is managing a Snack Tent on the Upper Joe Walker field. Drinks and Snacks, at great prices, are available.
MAKE-UP PICTURE DAY - October 8th from 9-12 at Lane Park. Make-up pictures are for Individuals only. First come, first served and please check-in before 11:45. The picture company will be done promptly at 12.

Volunteer of the Week

Coach Danny Henderson: For their road game at Lancaster, Coach Henderson's 10UB Snakes had a first time Referee on their game. The Referee felt a lot of support and it made for a great first match as the 'Center Ref.' The Referee is motivated to continue refereeing and the Lancaster Region's Commissioner wanted to share their thanks to Coach Henderson and his team for great support of the new Referee. Thank you!

Board Member of the Week

Kajsa Courtial: Few people directly work with all 1100 families and the nearly 1400 kids of our Region. As our Regional Registrar, Kajsa has the responsibility for managing all registrations, forming the teams, updating rosters, managing cancellations and waitlists... and the list goes on. It is an incredibly demanding volunteer job that requires organization, communication skills and quick problem solving. Kajsa is in her second season as Regional Registrar and does an amazing job. We thank her for her time and dedication to the kids of AYSO!
