Commissioner's Notes

A good problem is when I get positive feedback on too many coaches to list. This was one of those weeks. We had notes on a number of Coaches helping each other. I really want to thank our 6U and 8U coaches who are sharing players or mixing up teams when one or both teams are short. Believe or not this had actually been a real problem in the past. While not required in the competitive ages, thanks also go out to those 10U-19U coaches who will make adjustments when player numbers are lopsided. Teams are rebuilt every year in AYSO, so your opponents this season will be your teammates next season. Different teams, one AYSO!

We have a number of brand new Referees. It is tough to put yourself out there. I don't get to Referee as much as I'd like, but this past week I was able to get in two 10U matches with one of my kids as an AR. I want to shout out to Tiffany Rexius and Jon Silva who were my other assistants. Both are new and did a great job, asking great questions and not only getting points for their teams, but wanting to do right by the kids. I want to thank all our new referees for getting out there.

Finally, if you get a chance, Quartz VIP will Host Palmdale VIP at 11:00 on Lower Joe Walker Field 3. Both Regions have great programs for our Special Needs kids so drop by, watch and cheer both teams on!

Enjoy Match Week 6!

News to Know

  • TROPHY ROSTERS - Coaches will receive a roster in their coach box this Saturday. Coaches need to verify Jersey Numbers and the correct spelling of the players names for awards. If a player uses a shortened name or another name then note it on that roster. We would like the forms back tomorrow but no later than 10/22.

  • PICTURES DAY PICTURES HAVE ARRIVED - Coaches will be given instructions to pick up the pictures. No individual pictures will be handed out. Make-up day picture will arrive later.

  • TOURNAMENT TEAM COACHES NEEDED - Coaching Tournament Teams is a rewarding experience and allows a Coach to develop their own coaching and team management skills while also providing long-term development for players who will benefit for years to come. So far we don't have any coach applications in 10U Girls, 12U Boys, 14U Girls or 14U Boys. The Coach Application is on our Tournament Teams Page or Contact Gabe Canett for questions or more information.

  • COACH TRAINING - Coaches and Assistant Coaches who might need to complete their current-level training or maybe coaches looking ahead. Please see our training Calendar or Contact our Coach Admin, Lisa Kimura, for more information. Level-training is required for any coaches or assistant coaches and coaches whose team move to Area or Section play cannot coach without the training being completed.
